Caves Of India

Ajanta Cave

The Ajanta Caves were built by the Satavahana and Vakataka dynasties, primarily under the patronage of Buddhist monks and the ruling dynasties of ancient India. The construction was carried out in two distinct phases: the Hinayana phase (2nd century BCE to 1st century CE) under Satavahana patronage and the Mahayana phase (5th century CE) under Vakataka patronage.

Ellora Cave

The Ellora Caves are renowned for their intricate rock-cut architecture and sculptures, particularly the massive Kailasa Temple, a single-stone carving dedicated to Lord Shiva. They are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a complex of Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain caves, showcasing India's artistic and architectural achievements.
